English Week 2026: A Celebration of Language, Culture, and Creativity

Colegio Concepción is delighted to announce the beginning of English Week 2026, a celebration of language, culture, creativity, and school spirit that will take place from Monday, August 17th to Monday, August 24th. This annual event, organised by the English Department in collaboration with the English Immersion Program, brings together students from different levels to enjoy meaningful and communicative experiences in English.
What’s Happening This Year?
The programme for English Week 2026 is filled with exciting activities that invite students to use English beyond the classroom, connecting language learning with games, music, culture, participation, and shared school experiences.
Monday, August 17th – The week begins with a special visit from our beloved school mascot, the ant, who will visit our younger students from Medio Mayor to 2nd grade, all from the Junior Area, to deliver English Week stickers connected to British culture. This joyful moment marks the beginning of a week full of activities and celebrations, helping our youngest students feel part of this important school event.
Throughout the week – Board Games in English will be available in the school library during the 9:30 a.m. break. For the third time, this much-loved activity returns to English Week, offering students a relaxed and welcoming space to play, share, and practise English through strategy, teamwork, friendly competition, and fun.
Wednesday, August 19th – One of the major academic highlights of the celebration will be the 3rd Inter-School Spelling Bee Competition, hosted by Colegio Concepción with more than 14 invited schools. This event will bring together students from different educational communities to demonstrate confidence, concentration, pronunciation, and spelling skills in English.
Thursday, August 20th – Our youngest students will enjoy a special storytelling session based on The Tiger Who Came to Tea, a beloved British story that has become part of children’s literature and culture. Through this experience, students will approach English through imagination, visual support, listening, and shared participation, connecting language learning with one of the classic stories of British childhood.
Friday, August 21st – The celebration will continue with two important activities. Students will take part in the British Isles Cultural Fair, an experience that connects language learning with cultural exploration through traditions, symbols, identity, and creativity. On the same day, the English Song Festival will bring music to the stage, allowing students to share their talent, confidence, and creativity through performances in English.
Monday, August 24th – English Week will come to an end with the Closing Ceremony, a special moment to celebrate the participation, enthusiasm, and commitment shown by our students throughout this amazing week. This final gathering will bring the school community together to recognise the spirit of the celebration and the meaningful experiences shared during these days.
English Week is much more than a calendar of events. It is an opportunity for our students to use English as a living, communicative tool in different contexts. By connecting games, spelling, storytelling, music, culture, and shared celebrations, this week reflects our commitment to strengthening English through creativity, participation, and meaningful school experiences.
We warmly invite our entire school community to join us in celebrating English Week 2026, a week full of learning, joy, culture, and unforgettable moments.
