After the winter break, students from 6th grade B began the new term with an English and Mathematics bingo activity, a playful learning experience designed to reconnect them with classroom routines, active listening, and participation.
Coming back from a well-deserved break is always a special moment in the school year. Students return with new energy, ready to see their classmates again, share their experiences, and slowly get back into the rhythm of learning. In this context, the bingo activity offered a positive and dynamic way to start the term, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, focus, and enjoyment.
The activity was carried out through the collaboration between the English Immersion Plan, led by Mr. Marcos Riveros, and the Elementary Mathematics subject, guided by Mr. Rubén Ortiz. This articulation allowed students to use English in a practical and meaningful context, while also reinforcing number recognition, attention, and mathematical thinking.
During the session, students quickly became involved in the rhythm of the game. Each number required them to listen carefully in English, remain focused, and respond actively. In this way, bingo became more than a simple classroom game: it became an opportunity to practise comprehension, follow instructions, and participate with confidence in a relaxed but purposeful learning environment.
The activity also helped students reconnect with important classroom values such as respect, patience, fair play, and the ability to manage emotions during moments of excitement. Through the game, students were reminded that learning can also happen through shared experiences, healthy challenges, and moments of joy with their classmates.
As the new term begins, experiences like this allow students to return to school with motivation and a sense of connection. By bringing English and Mathematics together, the activity showed once again that language can be used naturally across different subjects, helping students learn, interact, and enjoy the process.
Through activities like this, the English Immersion Plan continues to promote meaningful learning experiences where English is connected with other areas of learning, allowing students to use the language in practical, engaging, and authentic classroom situations.
