Our youngest students from Medio Mayor, Pre-Kinder, and Kinder took part in one of the storytelling sessions held at the Parvulario, as part of the ongoing monthly experiences organised by the English Immersion Program for the parvulario.
These sessions, led by Mr. Marcos Riveros and Ms. Catalina Maturana, create meaningful spaces where children engage with stories, language, and their own emotions in a natural and playful way.
The story chosen for this occasion was Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, a classic tale that follows Max on an imaginative journey to a world of wild creatures. Through this story, students were invited to explore themes such as imagination, emotions, and self-expression, connecting with the character’s feelings and experiences.
This session was guided by Benjamín Sáez, Antonia González, Mariana González, and Rocío Oyarzúa, students from the Senior Area, who led the storytelling with enthusiasm and care, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere for the younger students.
Throughout the session, children participated actively, responding to questions, using gestures, and engaging with simple English words and expressions. The story encouraged them to connect with Max’s adventure, recognising emotions such as anger, excitement, and calm, while expressing their own ideas in a safe and supportive environment.
Through these storytelling moments, the English Immersion Program continues to promote the use of English in meaningful and age-appropriate contexts, where language becomes a tool for imagination, communication, and emotional development.
We invite you to explore the gallery and revisit this special moment of storytelling and discovery.
