On March 18th, the second part of our cultural exchange activity took place at the Early Childhood Education building. Continuing our exploration of Irish culture in connection with the English language, this session was dedicated to storytelling—an engaging way to immerse students in language and tradition.
Students gathered to listen to The Tale of Lucky Patrick – A Leprechaun and Farmer Story, a delightful Irish folk tale full of adventure, trickery, and valuable lessons. Since students had already been introduced to the topic in the previous session, they were fully engaged, eagerly listening while proudly wearing the leprechaun hats and beards they had crafted the day before.
The storytelling session was led by Mr. Marcos and his beloved puppet, Mr. Grammar. Always in character, Mr. Grammar enthusiastically shared the tale, emphasizing his expertise in the topic, as he «comes from England»—a place where this festivity is also widely celebrated. His lively narration made the experience even more interactive and fun for the children.
To conclude this cultural journey, students had the opportunity to taste soda bread, a traditional Irish delight. This final touch allowed them to not only learn about Irish customs but also experience them through taste, making the exchange even more immersive.
Through this activity, our youngest students continued to explore the richness of Irish culture while reinforcing their connection to the English language. It was a memorable experience that brought learning to life in a fun and engaging way!
