On Wednesday, December 6th, the students of 2nd Grade B experienced a captivating storytelling session led by Mia Kreca, our esteemed guest from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Known for her vibrant storytelling style, Mia shared one of her childhood favorites, The Magic Porridge Pot, a timeless Grimm’s fairy tale that has been passed down through generations.
The session was held in the Early Childhood Education library, where students were immersed in the magical world of the tale. The story follows a young girl who stumbles upon a magical pot that endlessly cooks porridge—but only when the correct words are spoken. As the pot’s magic spirals out of control, the story unfolds with humor and an important life lesson.
This activity offered more than just entertainment—it was an enriching educational experience. Students practiced their English language skills by listening to the story and discussing key vocabulary and themes. They explored the moral of the tale while sharing their own interpretations and ideas, fostering both creativity and comprehension.
The storytelling session was a wonderful way to blend European culture with language learning, providing the students with meaningful exposure to folklore. Through Mia’s dynamic narration, the children were not only engaged but also inspired to appreciate the art of storytelling.
We thank Mia Kreca for creating such a memorable experience and for sharing a piece of her cultural heritage with our students. Don’t miss the highlights of this magical event—check them out now!
