On Tuesday, November 14th, Colegio Concepción had the pleasure of hosting again Mia Kreca from Bosnia and Herzegovina for a cultural experience with our 4th-grade A and B students during their Music class. This visit was part of our ongoing efforts to enrich students’ learning through cultural exploration, using music and storytelling to bring English to life.
Mia shared a traditional Bosnian folk song with the students, guiding them through its melody and meaning. Our 4th graders enthusiastically participated, comparing the Bosnian rhythms to their own Chilean folk traditions. This engaging activity allowed them to learn about another culture while practising English in a fun, hands-on way.
The room was filled with energy as the students joined in singing and tapping along to the beat, discovering the similarities and differences between cultures. Mia’s passion and warmth added an exciting global dimension to their English lesson, showing how language, music and culture can connect us all.
This experience not only sparked a greater appreciation for world traditions among the students but also highlighted the importance of cultural exchange in language education. We extend our gratitude to Mia for bringing a bit of Bosnia to our classrooms and making this learning experience truly special.
We invite everyone to explore the highlights from this memorable day and see how our 4th graders celebrated the joy of learning through music and culture!
