We are delighted to welcome Live Language Theatre back to Colegio Concepción! For the third consecutive year, our students had the opportunity to enjoy professional theatre in English, with three wonderful productions coming to our auditorium on Wednesday, 28 October. This year’s programme included King Arthur, Big Button Machine, and Hamlet, bringing stories, imagination, and plenty of opportunities to participate to students from different educational levels.
For those who are not yet familiar with Live Language Theatre, the company specialises in using theatre as a creative and enjoyable way to learn English. Working with professional actors and international collaborators, they create interactive performances where students are encouraged to become part of the experience. Rather than simply sitting and watching, children and teenagers are invited to listen, respond, interact with the actors, and sometimes even take part in the story themselves!
One of the things we particularly appreciate about their approach is how accessible they make theatre in English for different age groups. Their productions combine storytelling, humour, movement, and improvisation, allowing students to follow the action and understand what is happening, even when they encounter unfamiliar words. The company also provides educational materials that teachers can use to introduce the stories and vocabulary beforehand, helping students feel more confident and prepared for the performances.
This year, we had three very different stories to enjoy. King Arthur took our students into the world of medieval legends, knights, and adventure, while Big Button Machine brought a playful theatrical experience to our youngest learners from the infant area. We were also especially pleased to welcome Hamlet to our stage, giving students the opportunity to discover one of William Shakespeare’s most celebrated works through a live performance. Each production was selected with its audience in mind, offering an enjoyable introduction to different forms of storytelling and literature in English.
For us, these visits are about much more than attending a theatre performance. They are opportunities for our students to enjoy English, recognise familiar language, discover new expressions, and experience communication in a different setting. Sometimes, hearing a character speak, following a story, or sharing a moment of laughter with the actors can help students connect with the language in ways that are quite different from their everyday classroom experiences.
This special visit is part of Live Language Theater Experience, a project developed through the English Immersion Plan, coordinated by Mr. Marcos Riveros, and made possible thanks to the 2026 Fondos Concursables of the Centro General de Padres y Apoderados.
We are particularly grateful to our Parents’ Association, which has supported this initiative for three consecutive years. Their continued commitment has allowed us to bring professional theatre to our school and offer these experiences to students from different age groups. It is a wonderful example of what we can achieve when families and the school work together to create new opportunities for our children and young people.
We are very happy to continue welcoming Live Language Theatre to Colegio Concepción and to see this experience become part of our school life. We hope to keep creating opportunities for our students to discover that English is not only something we learn in class, but also a language we can enjoy through literature, music, theatre, and many other experiences.
We invite our school community to enjoy some photographs from this special day and get a glimpse of the experiences our students shared as Live Language Theatre returned to Colegio Concepción!
