Our 3rd-grade students (A, B, and C) embarked on the second phase of their exciting universe project—a wonderful blend of English, Natural Science, and creativity! Organised by the English Immersion Plan in collaboration with the Department of Primary Education’s Natural Science class, this part of the project took the students on a deeper dive into space-related topics.
In their classrooms, each group of students explored a different aspect of the universe. One class focused on the planets of our solar system, another explored the fascinating world of space expeditions like Apollo 11, Laika, and the International Space Station, and the third class investigated non-planetary elements like moons, asteroids, and stars. Working in groups, the students researched their topics and created vibrant, handmade posters filled with information and beautiful artwork.
The best part? The entire project was conducted in English! Thanks to the collaboration between the Natural Science teachers, Ms. Daniela Matamala, Claudia Cuevas and Mr. Marcos from the English Immersion Plan, the students were able to practice their language skills while learning about the cosmos. It was great to see them using English in such a fun and creative way.
The students were truly engaged and excited throughout the process. They worked together, shared ideas, and painted their posters with enthusiasm. This phase of the project wasn’t just about learning new scientific concepts; it was also about expressing their creativity and building their English skills in an interactive and fun way.
As we look forward to the final stage—our Universe Walk-Through, where all three classes will come together to share their work—this project has been a fantastic journey so far. We can’t wait to see how it all comes together!
