Cooking Adventures: 1st and 2nd Graders Create Mexican Cocadas

In our Cooking Adventures workshop, our 1st and 2nd-grade students took their culinary skills to the next level this week. Held every Thursday and Fridays at 2 p.m., this workshop continues to provide exciting opportunities for our students to explore the world of cooking, all while practicing their English.
During this session, the children learned how to prepare Cocadas, a delicious traditional Mexican coconut treat. They followed the recipe step-by-step, measuring ingredients, mixing, and shaping their creations. Not only did they enjoy the hands-on cooking process, but they also followed important kitchen habits—washing their hands, cleaning their space, and ensuring the ingredients were prepared correctly before starting.
Cooking Adventures is conducted in English, encouraging young learners to practice the language while they engage in fun, meaningful activities. It’s not just about cooking; it’s about developing valuable life skills, from cleanliness to teamwork, all while strengthening their language abilities.
Our workshop doesn’t stop with our 1st and 2nd graders. We also offer sessions for Pre-Kinder and Kinder students, as well as for 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade students, making it an all-inclusive program for our school community.
Stay tuned for more exciting culinary adventures and fun learning experiences in Cooking Adventures!
