On Monday, October 28th, Colegio Concepción was thrilled to welcome back Mia Kreca from Bosnia and Herzegovina for a vibrant cultural exchange with our 3rd-grade students, this time during their English class. Mia’s visit was designed to enrich students’ understanding of both language and culture through the lively medium of music and dance.
During the session, Mia introduced our students to the traditional Bosnian dance known as the KOLO. The students eagerly learned the steps and rhythm, drawing parallels between their own traditional Chilean dances and those of Bosnia. This hands-on experience allowed them to engage with the cultural significance of the dance while practising their English language skills in a fun and interactive way.
The classroom was filled with laughter and joy as students moved to the music, celebrating the beauty of cultural exchange. Mia’s enthusiasm and expertise brought an exciting international flair to their English lesson, reinforcing the connection between language and cultural expression.
This activity not only enhanced the students’ appreciation for music and dance but also emphasised the importance of multicultural experiences in language learning. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mia for her continued support and for making this exchange an unforgettable experience for our students.
We invite everyone to explore the highlights from this wonderful event and see how our 3rd graders celebrated this unique fusion of culture and language through dance!
