Even though the semester has come to a close, we’re excited to showcase the impressive work our students produced for their final evaluations. At Colegio Concepción, students engaged deeply with environmental issues through the thought-provoking book «Why We Recycle» from Oxford University Press created by Fiona Undrill. This initiative was part of our ongoing assessment of the Extensive Reading Plan, aimed at fostering deeper understanding and reflection among students.
«Why We Recycle» challenges readers with a poignant question: «We all make a lot of waste. There is waste from our homes, factories, offices, and schools. We recycle a lot of our waste materials, but we should recycle more. Do you know why?»
Guided by Ms. Moisan, our 6th-grade elementary students explored various recycling methods and the importance of environmental consciousness. To assess their understanding, each student created a detailed poster in response to specific chapters, highlighting key themes, concepts and insights. These posters were then presented to the entire class, showcasing their comprehension and critical thinking skills.
We invite you to view some snapshots of these inspiring pieces of work. Witness how our students turned their knowledge into impactful visual representations, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.
Stay tuned for more updates on our students’ achievements and the innovative activities that shape their learning journey at Colegio Concepción.
