Students from 4th grade A, B and C participated in an early Mock Flyers Exam experience, marking an important first step in the Cambridge English preparation pathway developed at Colegio Concepción. This activity was designed to give students an initial approach to the format, structure, and expectations of the Cambridge A2 Flyers exam, which they will officially sit in 6th grade.
The activity was organised by the English Immersion Plan, led by Mr. Marcos Riveros, as part of the school’s continuous work to prepare students gradually and confidently for international certification. This first mock experience allowed students to begin becoming familiar with the type of tasks, timing, and skills involved in the Cambridge English Qualifications process.
This experience is part of a progressive preparation journey. In 4th grade, students begin to approach the exam format through an early mock experience. In 5th grade, the whole generation will sit another mock exam with greater exposure to the official structure. Finally, in 6th grade, students will take the official Cambridge A2 Flyers exam, obtaining an internationally recognised certification that validates their English learning process.
During the mock exam, students had the opportunity to face different components connected to English communication, including listening, reading, writing, and speaking. More than focusing only on results, the purpose of this experience was to help students understand how an international examination works, reduce future anxiety, and strengthen their confidence from an early stage.
This first approach is especially meaningful because it allows students to see English as part of a long-term learning journey. Preparation for international certification is built step by step, through practice, responsibility, perseverance, and constant exposure to the language.
For Colegio Concepción, experiences like this reflect the importance of offering students real opportunities to use English in contexts that go beyond regular classroom activities. The mock exam helps students connect their learning with international standards, while also encouraging them to develop autonomy, concentration, and confidence in their own abilities.
