Colegio Concepción celebrated a meaningful milestone in its English learning pathway with a special ceremony dedicated to the students who received their Cambridge A2 Flyers international certification. Held on August 11th at the school auditorium, the activity brought together students, families, teachers, school authorities, COEMCO representatives, and special guests to recognise the effort, perseverance, and commitment shown throughout this important process.
This ceremony was an important moment for the English Immersion Plan, led by Mr. Marcos Riveros, as the students who took the Cambridge A2 Flyers examination during the 2025 academic year became the first generation from Colegio Concepción to complete this international certification. This achievement marks a historic step not only for each student, but also for the whole generation, representing the conclusion of a long-term learning journey developed over the past years.
The ceremony was attended by COEMCO authorities, including Mr. Mario Méndez, Mr. Miguel Martínez, Mr. Andrés Vivero, and Mr. Jacinto Muñoz, together with Mr. Jaime Gutiérrez, General Manager of COEMCO, and Mr. José Vilche, Deputy Manager of Education. The school’s Headmaster, Mr. Víctor Viveros, also addressed the audience, highlighting the vision and commitment behind this formative goal and the importance of providing students with tools that can accompany them throughout their academic and personal lives.
The Cambridge A2 Flyers certification is part of Cambridge English Qualifications, an internationally recognised assessment designed for young learners. It evaluates listening, reading, writing, and speaking through tasks connected to everyday communication. More than a test, this certification allows students to demonstrate their ability to understand, interact, and express ideas in English with growing confidence and independence.
The ceremony also included the participation of Ms. Patricia Osorio, representative of the Instituto Chileno Británico de Cultura de Concepción, an official Cambridge centre that has accompanied the school throughout this process. Her presence gave special meaning to the celebration, recognising the responsibility and enthusiasm of the students, as well as the work developed by the school community to bring this international experience closer to them.
This milestone was also an opportunity to recognise the professionals who supported students during their preparation. In particular, we acknowledge Ms. Camila Moisan, who guided and prepared the students for the Cambridge A2 Flyers examination with dedication, care, and commitment. Her work was fundamental in helping students strengthen their confidence, practise the different components of the exam, and face this international challenge with greater readiness.
For many students, this was their first experience with an international certification, making the achievement especially significant. Their reflections around the process showed the emotion of belonging to the first generation to receive this recognition, the value of feeling supported by their teachers, and the importance of English as a tool for future studies, travel, work, and everyday communication.
