6th Grade A Takes Part in an English and Mathematics Bingo Experience

After the first session developed with 6th grade C, students from 6th grade A also took part in the English and Mathematics bingo activity, a playful learning experience designed to connect active listening, mathematical thinking, and participation.
The activity was carried out through the collaboration between the English Immersion Plan, led by Mr. Marcos Riveros, and the Elementary Mathematics subject, guided by Mr. Rubén Ortiz. This articulation allowed students to experience English in a natural and meaningful context, while also connecting the game with mathematical thinking and classroom interaction.
During the session, students quickly noticed that this was not a traditional bingo game. Each number required them to listen carefully to instructions in English, remain focused, and follow the rhythm of the activity. In this way, the game became both entertaining and challenging, encouraging students to combine attention, comprehension, and quick responses.
One of the most engaging moments of the class took place when more than one student reached bingo at the same time. To solve the tie, Mr. Rubén Ortiz provided a mathematical problem that students had to solve in order to define the winner. This moment added excitement to the activity and reinforced the connection between fair play, mathematical reasoning, and participation.
Beyond the game itself, the session also created space to reflect on the importance of enjoying the process, respecting classmates, managing emotions, and understanding that learning can happen through shared experiences.
Through activities like this, the English Immersion Plan continues to promote meaningful learning experiences where English is connected with other subjects, allowing students to use the language in practical, engaging, and authentic classroom situations.
