The bingo challenge continues to make its way through the classrooms of Colegio Concepción. On Monday, March 16th, it was the turn of 5th-grade students from class B to take part in this lively activity that combines English and Mathematics in a playful and engaging way.
The session took place in the school library and was organised as part of the English Immersion Plan, through the collaboration between the English Immersion program and the Elementary Mathematics subject, guided by Mr. Marcos Riveros and Ms. Susana Lizama. Through initiatives like this, students are able to experience how English becomes a natural part of learning across different subjects at Colegio Concepción.
Unlike a traditional bingo game, this version required students to remain attentive to the numbers, as English was the main language used throughout the activity. Listening carefully and reacting quickly became part of the challenge, as students followed the game while staying focused on the instructions.
Whenever two or more students reached bingo at the same time, the excitement continued with a tie-breaking challenge: solving a Mathematics question. These moments added energy to the activity and kept everyone engaged from beginning to end.
Beyond the excitement of the game, the activity also opened space for reflection. Students were reminded that in games, as in many learning experiences, sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. What truly matters is participating, enjoying the experience together, and learning to manage emotions with respect and a positive attitude.
This bingo initiative will continue throughout the year with students from 3rd to 6th grade, offering a playful opportunity to practice academic skills while strengthening confidence, collaboration, and curiosity.
Activities like this reflect the spirit of the English Immersion Plan, where English becomes a natural tool for communication and learning across different areas of the curriculum.
