Inauguration of a New English Reading Space in Formación Inicial

Colegio Concepción continues to strengthen its learning environments with the inauguration of a new English reading space in the library of our Formación Inicial Department, located in the Parvulario building. This initiative is part of the project “Little Readers, Big Words: Explorando el Inglés a Través de los Libros”, a proposal developed within the English Immersion Plan and one of the winning projects funded by the Centro de Padres. The project was led by Mr. Marcos Riveros and Ms. Catalina Maturana, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering meaningful learning experiences from the earliest stages.
The project focuses on incorporating English literature from early educational stages, offering children access to authentic stories that promote imagination, language development, and a natural connection with the language. Through this new bookshelf, students from Medio Mayor to 2nd grade will have the opportunity to explore books that enrich vocabulary, comprehension, and a genuine interest in reading. These titles will also play an active role in the monthly storytelling sessions carried out in the Parvulario building, allowing students to engage directly with the books through shared reading experiences, stories, and interactive activities that bring each text to life.
The inauguration marked not only the opening of a new physical space, but also the beginning of new learning experiences. This reading corner will support classroom activities, storytelling sessions, and moments of exploration where English becomes part of everyday learning in a meaningful and engaging way.
This initiative reflects the role of the English Immersion Plan in promoting experiences where language is connected to culture, creativity, and early literacy, allowing students to approach English in a natural and engaging way from their first years of schooling.
Colegio Concepción warmly thanks the Centro de Padres for supporting projects that contribute to the growth of our educational community, and celebrates this new space that will inspire curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love for reading.
