AFS is an intercultural education organization that offers school exchanges, language learning, and summer or short-term study abroad. In addition, it offers exchange programs to a large number of countries across different continents, providing benefits to around 50% of its participants through various types of scholarships and financial alternatives.
This conference aimed to provide information about the various programs and scholarships offered by this organisation, as well as to present the perspectives of students who had participated in an academic year-long exchange program in another country, highlighting the interculturality, language proficiency, and skills gained during the process.
The speakers were Paulo Rivero Aguilera and Millaray Lagno Canahuate, who shared their own experience with the organization and answered various questions from the participants in this talk, which were students from first, second, and third grade secondary.
The English department is grateful for the collaboration of the attending professors and the organization in fostering ties with our institution.
