Initial Training Shines at Cultural Food Fair

On May 22nd, the Parvulario of our school buzzed with excitement as students from Medio Mayor to 2nd Elementary level participated in a vibrant Cultural Food Fair. This event, a collaborative effort between the English Immersion and Initial Training department, was a testament to our community’s dedication to enriching students’ cultural, culinary, and linguistic knowledge, since the activity was of course conducted in English!

Organised by English teacher Marcos Riveros from English Immersion and Kindergarten teacher Catalina Maturana from Initial Training, the fair featured a delightful array of foods from countries where English is the official language. Claudia Tobar, our dedicated Parvulario inspector, provided invaluable logistical support and ensured all necessary materials were available.

A special highlight was the participation of the «Little Chef: A culinary adventure» extracurricular workshop. The young chefs showcased an enticing selection of international dishes, including: Tea from England, Naan from India, Mini burgers from the USA, Pavlova from Australia and New Zealand, Sausage rolls from Ireland, among others.

These culinary treats not only tantalised taste buds but also provided students with a hands-on learning experience about global cultures and traditions, all while practising their English skills.

The Cultural Food Fair was a resounding success, thanks to the hard work and collaboration of our teachers and staff. It offered a unique opportunity for students to explore new flavours and deepen their appreciation for cultural diversity.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this enriching event. We look forward to more such exciting and educational activities in the future!
