Students from 4th grade A took part in a new English and Mathematics bingo activity, a playful learning experience designed to connect number recognition, active listening, concentration, participation, and enjoyment in the classroom.
The activity was developed through the articulation between the English Immersion Plan, led by Mr. Marcos Riveros, and the Mathematics subject from junior area, guided by Ms. Johanna Pantoja. This collaboration allowed students to use English in a practical and meaningful way while reinforcing mathematical thinking through a familiar and entertaining game.
During the session, students listened carefully to numbers in English, followed the rhythm of the game, and participated with great enthusiasm. As the activity progressed, the classroom became a space full of attention, excitement, and friendly interaction, where each number called became an opportunity to listen, recognise, think, and respond.
One of the most valuable aspects of this experience was the way students approached English naturally through play. Rather than using the language only as part of a traditional lesson, they were able to connect it with a concrete task, making decisions, checking their cards, waiting for their turn, and celebrating each moment with their classmates.
The activity also encouraged important classroom values such as respect, patience, fair play, and positive participation. Through the game, students practised not only listening and number recognition, but also how to enjoy learning together in a respectful and supportive environment.
This session with 4th grade A marked the beginning of a new bingo series that will continue with other 4th grade classes. Although the format will remain the same, each course brings its own rhythm, energy, and way of participating, making every experience unique.
Through activities like this, the English Immersion Plan continues to promote meaningful moments where English becomes part of everyday classroom life, connecting language with other subjects, shared experiences, and the joy of learning.
