The students of 7th grade B experienced a moment filled with emotion and reflection as they watched the interview of their former classmate Dominga Senociaín, who studied at our school from Pre-Kinder through 6th grade and now lives in Merced, California.
The activity aimed to symbolically reconnect the class with someone who had been part of their group since their earliest school years, and to reflect on her journey of learning and growth abroad. The interview provided valuable insight into her process of adapting to a new language, culture, and educational system, as well as the ways in which the learning she received at Colegio Concepción continues to influence her daily life.
During the conversation, Dominga expressed her gratitude toward the school, fondly remembering her years from Pre-Kinder to 6th grade, the closeness of her teachers, and the values that shaped her education. She is now part of the California Junior Federation, a program that prepares young students for future university opportunities, and she highlighted how the skills developed at Colegio Concepción have been key to her confidence and integration.
After watching the interview, the students of 7th grade B expressed pride and admiration for their former classmate, recognizing in her a clear example of effort, resilience, and determination.
This experience not only allowed them to relive memories, but also to reflect on the value of friendship, change, and the importance of continuing to learn. Activities like this strengthen the bonds between students and reinforce the school’s commitment to forming global citizens, capable of adapting to different contexts while maintaining their identity and values wherever they go.
