This past week, our 4th-grade students continued their exciting journey through the unit Fun in the Jungle, an English learning experience that brings together language, nature, and culture. Guided by their English teachers, Ms. Mariela González and Mr. Marcos Riveros, the students had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge about plants and the natural world while also strengthening their English skills in creative and meaningful ways.
During their English class, the children applied what they had been learning by creating their very own trifold brochures. With great enthusiasm, they illustrated and wrote about plants, combining scientific facts with colourful designs. This hands-on project gave them a chance to reflect on what they had learned in English, turning vocabulary and concepts into something tangible they could proudly display.
The activity also connected to the cultural aspect of the unit, which explores India and its rich natural environment. As students folded, drew, and wrote, they not only practised English but also discovered how nature and culture can be seen from different perspectives. The classroom filled with laughter, creativity, and curiosity, as the brochures came to life with drawings of leaves, roots, flowers, and seeds, alongside the words and phrases they have been mastering throughout the unit.
It was a joyful moment to see how engaged the students were, working both individually and collaboratively, and how they transformed their knowledge into something artistic and memorable. This is exactly what learning should feel like, an adventure that inspires and connects ideas.
We invite you to check out the photos of their wonderful brochures and celebrate with us this step in their jungle journey, where English, creativity, and nature meet in the most delightful way.
