A Delicious Learning Experience in Technology Class

Sometimes learning takes an unexpected — and very tasty — turn. That’s exactly what happened in Technology class with Ms. Catalina Martínez, when 7th grade C and B students had the opportunity to prepare fresh fettuccine from scratch.
From the very beginning, the activity encouraged responsibility and good habits: students washed their hands carefully and disinfected their workspaces before diving into the culinary adventure. Then came the magic moment — weighing the flour, cracking the egg, and following the recipe step by step. The room was soon filled with the gentle sounds of mixing, kneading, and laughter, as each group focused on creating their own perfect pasta.
This cooking session was part of the unit they had been working on in Technology, but it became even more special when Ms. Catalina extended a warm invitation to the English Immersion Program. With the presence of Mr. Marcos, we were able to add English into the fun, naturally incorporating language practice into the experience as students followed instructions, shared their progress, and enjoyed the process.
Beyond the delicious results, the day was about collaboration, following instructions, and turning a simple set of ingredients into something wonderful — much like learning itself. And just like fettuccine, the best experiences are often made together.
