A Magical Storytelling Session: «The Golden Goose» Comes to Life for Early Childhood Students

On July 30th, despite a very rainy day, our Early Childhood Education students at Colegio Concepción enjoyed a magical storytelling session featuring the classic tale, The Golden Goose. This delightful session took place in the Parvulario (Early Childhood Education building), where students from Medio Mayor, Pre-Kinder, and Kinder gathered attentively to listen to the story unfold.
The Golden Goose is a timeless fairy tale about kindness, generosity, and the rewards of helping others. The story follows a simple, kind-hearted young man who, after helping an old man, is gifted with a goose that lays golden eggs. As he journeys home, the goose brings good fortune, and through a series of adventures, the young man’s selflessness is rewarded in unexpected ways. The story teaches young listeners the value of kindness, the importance of being generous without expecting anything in return, and the idea that good things happen to those who help others.
The storytelling session was made even more special thanks to the collective effort of several readers: Mariana González, Antonia González, and Benjamin Sáez, students from higher levels, alongside our beloved friend Mia Kreca from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who has become a cherished member of our school family. Each reader brought their unique voice and energy, making the experience engaging and interactive for the young audience.
This activity is part of the ongoing monthly storytelling sessions organised by the English Immersion Program in collaboration with the Early Childhood Education Department. These sessions aim to introduce our youngest learners to the world of literature in English, fostering language development and listening skills through fun and captivating stories.
Despite the rainy weather, the students were mesmerised by the tale of The Golden Goose, as they listened intently and followed along with the readers, making it a truly memorable experience. The English Immersion Plan continues to create opportunities for our students to learn in creative, engaging ways, and this session was no exception.
We look forward to many more storytelling sessions that bring stories to life and inspire a love for reading in our youngest learners!
