On July 9th, 2025, students from the Ecobrigade and ICT workshop embarked on an exciting and educational visit to the Interactive Center of Sciences, Arts, and Technology (CICAT) for the inauguration of their new interactive room, “El Gran Viaje del Agua” (The Great Water Journey). This new exhibit is dedicated to exploring the vital role water plays in our lives and the environment.
The visit was made possible through an invitation sent to our school’s headmaster by the Vicerrectoría de Investigación y Desarrollo de la Universidad de Concepción, in collaboration with the Centro de Recursos Hídricos para la Agricultura y la Minería (CRHIAM) and CICAT. The event began with an insightful talk by CRHIAM, where students learned about the importance of water, followed by a guided tour of the new room, which offers an immersive experience about water’s journey through nature and human life.
CICAT, located in Coronel, is a space dedicated to promoting a scientific-technological culture, providing a fun and interactive environment where visitors can learn about various scientific and technological fields. Its mission is to contribute to the development of scientific curiosity and understanding in the community, especially among young learners.
Our students, excited by the hands-on approach to learning, had the chance to engage with the interactive exhibits, which allowed them to visualize and understand the complexities of water usage and conservation. This visit was not only an educational opportunity but also an experience that deepened the students’ understanding of how water affects all aspects of life, from agriculture to daily human activities.
This enriching experience reinforces the importance of water conservation and highlights the vital role that educational institutions like CICAT play in fostering scientific curiosity and environmental responsibility in our students.
We look forward to more opportunities for our students to explore science in such interactive, engaging settings, and we thank CICAT for hosting us during this inspiring event.
