On Friday, June 13th, our talented students from Colegio Concepción participated in the final round of the 11th Interescolar Spelling Bee, held at Universidad Andrés Bello, Concepción campus. This thrilling event brought together the best spellers from different schools in the region, giving our students the chance to showcase their hard work, dedication, and exceptional English language skills.
The students who made it to the finals were:
● Ignacio Sebastián Ortiz Figueroa – 2° grade B High School level
● Sam Rojas Pereira – 2° grade C High School level
● Agustín Edgardo Aravena Varas – 1° grade B High School level
These finalists had already demonstrated great skill in the earlier rounds of the competition, and their perseverance and passion for language learning brought them to the final stage. They were accompanied and supported by Mr. Marcos Riveros from the English Immersion Program, who guided them through their preparation and cheered them on throughout the event.
In the final round, students participated in Category A, which included 1st and 2nd grade high school students, and competed fiercely while maintaining a friendly atmosphere. The competition was not only a test of spelling abilities but also an excellent opportunity for students to strengthen their vocabulary, pronunciation, and language confidence.
We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and the effort they put into preparing for this event. Competing in the Spelling Bee has helped our students improve their language skills, build self-confidence, and foster a strong sense of school pride.
A big thank you to Universidad Andrés Bello for organising this event, and congratulations to our students for making it to the finals. We look forward to more opportunities to celebrate their dedication and showcase the talent of our English learners!
