Early Childhood Education Week: A Magical Science Show

As part of Early Childhood Education Week, the Parvulario Hall was buzzing with excitement on Wednesday, November 20th! This special week, organised by the Early Childhood Education Area of the school, featured a variety of engaging activities, including a unique «magic» show provided by the English Immersion Plan.
Students from Medio Mayor to Kinder gathered to enjoy the captivating presentation led by Mr. Marcos Riveros. The show included two fascinating experiments that appeared to be magic! In the first experiment, students watched a balloon inflate on its own using just a mixture of baking soda and vinegar, showcasing the power of chemical reactions. The second experiment demonstrated the effects of friction, as a balloon rubbed on hair made the hair stand up, seemingly by «magic.»
The young learners were enthralled as they saw science come to life in a fun and unexpected way. Mr. Marcos concluded the show by revealing that what looked like magic was actually science, explaining the chemical reactions and physical principles behind each demonstration.
This event was conducted entirely in English, giving students the opportunity to be exposed to both scientific concepts and English language skills in a dynamic and engaging environment. The day was dedicated to science as part of the Early Childhood Education Week activities, making it a unique way for our youngest students to explore the wonders of science.
We invite everyone to check out the highlights of this magical science show and see how our youngest students were immersed in the wonders of science!
