Engaging Literary Adventures: Students Dive into Creative Character Profiles!

In an exciting fusion of literature and technology, students from 1st grade highschool “C” and 2nd grade highschool “B” embarked on a captivating project that brought their favourite book characters to life on Instagram. But this wasn’t just any project – it was part of their English class’s Extensive Reading Plan assessment, designed to foster a love for reading while honing language skills.
Under the guidance of Mr. Muñoz and Miss Constanza Sánchez, our professional practicum student who brought fresh ideas and strategies to the table, students delved into the world of storytelling like never before. This project was a testament to how technology can engage and inspire learners, showing the importance of embracing innovation in education.
From June 3rd to 7th, the computer lab buzzed with creativity as students meticulously crafted Instagram profiles for the main characters of «A Close Shave» authored by Nick Park and Jack London’s beloved «White Fang.» Each profile was a reflection of the character’s personality, with posts that included chapter summaries, and character’s descriptions.
Using Canva templates and harnessing the power of artificial intelligence for image generation, students brought their characters to life in vibrant and engaging ways. The project not only showcased their creativity but also provided an opportunity for authentic language practice and literary analysis.
As the deadline approached, students put the finishing touches on their profiles, proud to share their literary masterpieces with the world. And when the final bell rang on June 7th, the computer lab was filled with a sense of accomplishment and excitement, as students marvelled at their creations.
Congratulations to all the students for their outstanding work and dedication to this project! Your Instagram profiles truly capture the essence of these beloved characters, inspiring us all to dive deeper into the world of literature. Keep up the fantastic work, and let your creativity continue to shine!
