Our school recently hosted an exhilarating Spelling Bee Contest, creating a buzz of excitement and showcasing the linguistic talents of our students. The event, held in the cosy ambiance of the school library, was divided into two parts: one for the 5th graders and another for the 6th graders.
Organised by the dedicated Ms. Moisan and hosted by Mr. Riveros, the contest was a delightful celebration of the English language. Students and teachers gathered to witness this fun and educational event.
The 5th graders kicked off the contest with a fierce yet friendly competition. Their hard work and preparation were evident as they confidently spelled their way through increasingly challenging words. In the end, the winner for the 5th grade category was 5th grade A team: Bastián Araneda, Tomás Corte, Sofía Jorquera, and Bautista Llanos. They impressed everyone with their spelling prowess.
Next, the 6th graders took the stage, bringing an equally high level of enthusiasm and skill. The atmosphere was electric as the contestants spelled word after word, striving for the top spot. The 6th grade category winner was 6th grade A team: Maximiliano Alabarce, Bruno Azócar, Máximo Chauriye, and Irantzu Salamanca, who demonstrated remarkable accuracy and composure under pressure.
The panel of judges, led by Ms. Gonzalez, included Mr. Muñoz, Ms. Figueroa, and Ms. Sanchez. Their keen eyes and fair judgement ensured that the contest was both competitive and enjoyable.
The Spelling Bee was not just about winning; it was an opportunity for students to enjoy using the English language in a dynamic and supportive setting. The excitement and joy of the participants were palpable, making it a memorable experience for all involved.
