On June 4th, English teachers from our school gathered online for an enriching webinar titled «Community of Practice,» focused on ESL methodology and teaching practices. Organised by Marcos Riveros from the English Immersion program, this event provided a valuable platform for educators to delve into various topics related to teaching English as a second language.
Led by guest speaker Ms. Elena Quezada, a professor from Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción and Universidad San Sebastián, the webinar offered a comprehensive overview of effective teaching strategies and coping mechanisms for addressing common challenges in ESL education.
Participants gained valuable insights into topics such as teacher burnout and innovative teaching methods, enriching their understanding of ESL methodology and strengthening their teaching approach.
Conducted entirely in English, the webinar provided an excellent opportunity for English teachers to practise their language skills in an authentic context. It was attended by English teachers from our school, who found it to be a valuable learning experience and a great opportunity for professional development.
