As part of the ongoing 2025 COEMCO Innovation ABP Project at Colegio Concepción, students from 8th grade to Senior Years electives took part in an inspiring Fact-Checking and Ethical AI Workshop, one of the first milestones of the interdisciplinary project “80 Years Since World War II – Art in Times of War.”
Held in the school’s Computer Lab, the sessions brought together the Departments of Art and Social Studies in collaboration with the English Immersion Plan. The aim was to help students critically engage with artificial intelligence, understand its ethical implications, and learn how to use it creatively and responsibly — key skills for the 21st century.
The workshop introduced students to strategies for verifying AI-generated content, creating effective prompts, and reflecting on how technology can support — but never replace — human thinking and creativity.
As part of the session, students also worked on a hands-on challenge: using Canva AI to recreate an image of the computer lab as accurately as possible, applying their new skills in a practical and creative way.
As noted during the session, the question is no longer whether to use AI in education, but how. Society has already embraced these tools, and our responsibility as educators is to prepare students to use them consciously and with purpose.
This experience was more than just a lesson in technology — it was a step forward in preparing our students for a digital future. It showed them how innovation, critical thinking, and creativity can come together to enhance learning across disciplines.
We invite our school community to explore the photo gallery of the workshop and take a look at some of the best AI-generated creations produced by our students.
