On November 8th, students from First and Second grades in secondary level had the remarkable opportunityto explore the art of organized arguing in English, in which the participants showed their language competence, persuasion skills and public speaking. It is also important to say that speech and debate skills help students to thrive academically.
The motion chosen for this debate was “Same Sex Marriage”. Both teams, proposition and opposition, presented their arguments as well as they made questions and replied each other by using the English language to communicate and support their points of view.
In this occasion the proposition team composed by Alexandra Leighton, Fernanda Igor, Vicente Soto and Paula Cárdenas, all of them from Second grade A, were the winners of this debate.
